The G20 Summit has been a resounding success and Modi is being hailed globally

The two-day G20 Summit in New Delhi is over and the delegates have returned with fond memories to their respective countries. Right from the management to the outcome, the impressions of the Delhi Summit would be stamped for long on their hearts and souls. Delhi’s master handling of the mega event has drawn widespread acclaim from world leaders and international observers. This Summit marked a significant milestone in global diplomacy and cooperation as leaders from the world's largest economies gathered together at the Bharat Mandapam to address pressing global challenges and explore fresher opportunities for collaboration. Delhi's deft management of the mega event has highlighted India's growing role and influence on the global stage. The Summit's agenda was far-reaching, addressing critical issues such as climate change, economic recovery, trade and global security. Living up to its reputation and expectations, India made the Summit truly inclusive and sensitive towards leaders from developing countries. Not only did the Summit add Africa to its fold, it also succeeded in building consensus on many hot-button and prickly issues. India’s persuasion of and commitment to the organisation saw the adoption of Delhi Declaration with full consensus. Earlier, there were doubts — especially about the "Ukraine paras" — since both Russia and China had reservations on it. It was a real threat after the Bali Summit, where the US and the European countries insisted on harshly criticising Russia for the Ukraine war, though India had maintained a fine balance even then.

World leaders have unanimously praised India for the Summit's meticulous planning and seamless execution. From state-of-the-art facilities to world-class hospitality, India left no stone unturned to ensure that the Summit was a big success. The choice of New Delhi as the host city showcased India's capabilities and commitment to multilateralism. With India's G20 presidency ensuring several tangible outcomes, virtually the whole world is hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his "decisive leadership" and for championing the voice of the Global South. The participating leaders noted that India's message of "One Earth, One Family, One Future" had a strong resonance. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated: “Under India's leadership, we have demonstrated that we can come together, at a time when it really matters.” US President Joe Biden said: "The African Union is a critical partner. You (Modi) are bringing us together, keeping us together, reminding us that we have the capacity to tackle challenges together.” While Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida hailed Modi for providing "great leadership" to the G20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called for strengthening G20 cooperation based on "the foundation created by the Indian presidency". Aptly, Modi had wrapped up the conclave with a prayer for peace: ‘Swasti Astu Vishwa’ (May there be hope and peace in the whole world).
