Missing Telangana woman found murdered, with arms and limbs missing

Hyderabad: The Telangana police on Wednesday recovered the body of an unidentified woman from an isolated area near Tatti Annaram village under the Nagole Police Station limits. Her body was found with her hands and legs missing, raising serious suspicion over the circumstances surrounding her death.
Police identified the deceased as Alakunta Manga, wife of Alakunta Eddaiah, a resident of Manikeshwar Nagar, OU Campus.
Locals out on a morning walk discovered the body and alerted police after noticing dogs tearing at it. Police reached the spot and examined the remains. Liquor bottles were reportedly found nearby. The woman's legs and hands were found missing.
Bharath, the deceased's son-in-law, told The Pioneer that an Aadhaar card belonging to Laxmi was found with the dead body. Laxmi is a relative of Manga, and both worked at a canteen, cooking and serving food on a daily-wage basis. He said Manga left home around 8:30 pm about a week ago after receiving a phone call, telling the family she was going to the canteen. We called her that night, but she did not answer, calls the next day also went unanswered. By evening, her phone was switched off.
According to the FIR complaint by Jyothi, daughter of the deceased. Manga left home around 10:30 am on September 29, saying she was going for catering work, and did not return. Her daughter said a similar incident occurred about a year ago, when her mother returned after three days, having gone to her own mother's house. The family initially assumed the same had happened. When four days passed and her phone remained switched off, they searched everywhere without success. On October 4 at about 6:30 pm, they approached the OU Police Station.
The family filed a missing person complaint but later alleged that police did not take immediate action.
The body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation, and are also examining whether her disappearance is connected to the body found near Tatti Annaram. The investigation is under way.
