UP to become logistics hub as UPSIDA approves 4 new projects

Uttar Pradesh is moving towards strengthening its position as one of the country’s leading industrial and logistics hubs, with the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) approving four new warehousing and logistics projects across the state.
The projects include one silo project, two warehousing projects and one logistics park. These projects will be established in Pilibhit, Unnao, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ayodhya districts.
The initiatives are being undertaken under the leadership and guidance of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to accelerate industrial development in the state and contribute to the vision of making Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy.
Rs 14,600 crore Investment Proposed Across 75 Projects
With approval for four new projects, UPSIDA has so far approved 75 projects under the Uttar Pradesh Warehousing & Logistics Policy-2022 and the PIP Policy.
These projects are proposed to be developed over approximately 960 acres of land, with a total proposed investment of around Rs 14,600 crore.
Implementing these projects is expected to expand the state’s modern warehousing and logistics infrastructure significantly. In particular, the projects will increase capacity for safe, scientific storage of food grains and provide farmers with better warehousing and logistics facilities.
The projects will also accelerate the development of warehousing clusters, modern distribution centres, silos and cold-chain facilities across the state. This is expected to make the agricultural supply chain more efficient and seamless while facilitating faster movement of agricultural produce to markets.
New employment opportunities alongside investment
Growing investment in the warehousing and logistics sector is expected to strengthen the state’s infrastructure and generate significant direct and indirect employment opportunities.
These projects will stimulate local economic activity in areas such as transportation, warehousing, packaging, distribution, and allied services, contributing to inclusive economic growth.
Policy incentives strengthening investor confidence
The Uttar Pradesh Warehousing & Logistics Policy-2022, introduced by the state Government, aims to establish Uttar Pradesh as a modern, competitive and globally competitive logistics hub.
Under the policy, the state provides investors with various incentives, financial assistance, tax-related benefits, and other facilitation measures to establish warehousing and logistics units in the State.
The rapidly expanding expressway network, industrial corridors, and rail and air connectivity further enhance Uttar Pradesh’s attractiveness as a preferred destination for investment in the logistics and warehousing sector.
UPSIDA is also placing particular emphasis on providing investors with a simple, transparent, and time-bound approval process, ensuring that investment proposals translate into ground-level projects at the earliest and contribute to investment, employment generation, and economic activity across the State.
UPSIDA Focuses on Ground-Level Implementation
UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer Dr Balkar Singh said the authority is working to establish Uttar Pradesh as one of the country’s leading warehousing and logistics hubs.
“UPSIDA is continuously working towards establishing Uttar Pradesh as one of the country’s leading warehousing and logistics hubs. The approval of 75 projects with a proposed investment of approximately Rs 14,600 crore clearly reflects the growing confidence of investors in the warehousing and logistics sector in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
He said the authority endeavours to ensure investors can access the incentives available under the state government’s policies through a simple, transparent, time-bound process.
“UPSIDA’s priority is not merely to approve investment proposals, but also to actively facilitate their timely implementation on the ground,” Dr Singh said.
According to him, expanding modern warehousing, silo, cold-chain, and distribution-centre infrastructure will make the state’s supply chain more efficient and competitive. This will directly benefit farmers, industries and consumers while creating new employment opportunities.
“In the coming years, UPSIDA remains committed to creating new and expanded opportunities for investment in the logistics sector. Our objective is to establish Uttar Pradesh as a strong logistics hub based on speed, ease and trust, thereby giving further momentum to the state’s vision of becoming a 1 trillion economy,” he said.
