Union Govt approves key foreign postings to IMF, ADB, ICAO

The Centre on Wednesday approved key foreign postings, including those in Washington-based International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Asian Development Bank in the Philippines, among others.
Senior bureaucrat Satyajit Mohanty, currently working as Joint Secretary in the Defence Ministry, has been appointed to the post of Representative of India in the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Montreal, Canada for three years, a Personnel Ministry order said.
Rahul Jain, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has been named Senior Adviser to the Executive Director (India), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington DC, USA for a period of three years, it said.
Jain is a 2005-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.
Baldeo Purushartha, a 2002-batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre, will be Senior Adviser to the Executive Director, Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines, the order said.
He is currently Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs.
The foreign deputation tenure of Hemang Jani as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director, World Bank, Washington DC, USA has been extended for a further period of two years beyond July 16, 2027 (that is up to July 16, 2029), the order said.
Kapil Patidar, Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, has been appointed as Adviser to the Executive Director (India), IMF, Washington.
Aditya Rajendra Bhojgadhiya, Joint Director in the National Testing Agency (NTA) has been named as First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India (PMI), World Trade Organisation (WTO), Geneva, the order said.
Jivisha Joshi Gangopadhyay, currently working as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will be First Secretary (Legal), Permanent Mission of India, WTO, Geneva.
Subhash Kumar, who is at present Director in the Ministry of Defence, has been named Director, SAARC Secretariat, Kathmandu, Nepal, the order said.
Senior IAS officer Brij Mohan Mishra, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has been appointed to the post of Minister (Economic and Commercial), Embassy of India, Tokyo.
Balamurugan D, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, will be Minister (Agriculture) in the Embassy of India, Rome.
Gopalakrishnan Ganesan has been appointed to the post of Counsellor (Economic), Economic Wing, Embassy of India in Washington DC. He is currently working as Director, Ministry of Steel.
