Unemployment to be made nationwide issue: CJP's Dipke
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday, August 6, described unemployment as a major problem facing the country and said the party would take it up as a nationwide issue.
Dipke was addressing a press conference following the conclusion of the CJP's core team meeting in his hometown of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The core team had been holding discussions at Dipke's residence since Wednesday.
CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, along with other party representatives, were also present at the press conference.
Referring to protests led by the CJP at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi last month over the NEET paper leak and other examination irregularities, Dipke said the agitation had led to Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation as Union education minister.
"Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation is the biggest achievement of the students' agitation," Dipke said, adding that the protest at Jantar Mantar had drawn not only students but also unemployed young people.
"Unemployment is a major problem, we will make it a nationwide issue. We will work on education reforms. Education has remained unaffordable since schooling. Education is used for making profits. But we want to change it," Dipke said.
He noted that 60 per cent of the country's population is below the age of 35, and said protesters at Jantar Mantar largely comprised people from this age group.
The CJP founder also said there was a need to restore credibility to the media.
