Iran Supreme Leader Motjaba Khamenei is still alive, says Trump
US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he believes Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Motjaba Khamenei is still alive, despite having been seriously wounded in US-Israeli strikes.
Motjaba Khamenei became Iran's supreme leader after his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in the opening moments of the US-Israel bombardment of Iran on February 28.
The younger Khamenei was also badly wounded in the attacks and has not appeared in public since.
In an interview with conservative American host Glenn Beck, Trump said he believed Motjaba Khamenei was "very seriously wounded", but was not dead.
"If he is, they're putting on a pretty good show," Trump said, referring to reports that Iranian officials continue to consult the supreme leader on important decisions.
Trump said Iranian officials had spoken about "going back to talk to him all the time" to seek his "final blessing" on matters.
