TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee appears before ED in West Bengal Primary School Recruitment Scam Case

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Kolkata on Monday for questioning in connection with the alleged West Bengal primary school recruitment scam. The questioning is part of an ongoing money laundering investigation linked to alleged irregularities in teacher recruitment.
Banerjee arrived at the ED's CGO Complex office after being summoned by the agency earlier this month. Investigators are examining the financial trail and alleged irregularities related to recruitment processes in primary schools across the state.
The ED's probe is linked to allegations of illegal appointments and financial transactions associated with recruitment in educational institutions. The case has emerged as one of the major corruption investigations in West Bengal, with multiple agencies examining different aspects of the alleged scam.
Banerjee's appearance before the central agency comes amid heightened political activity in the state and follows recent legal and investigative developments involving senior TMC leaders. The TMC has consistently maintained that central agencies are being used for political purposes, while the ED has continued its investigation into the alleged recruitment irregularities.

The questioning of the Diamond Harbour MP is expected to be a significant development in the ongoing probe as investigators seek to gather additional information regarding the recruitment process and related financial transactions.
