TMC leader Jahangir Khan arrested by Bengal STF near India

Trinamool Congress (Trinamool Congress) leader Jahangir Khan, popularly known as “Pushpa” Jahangir Khan, has been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal near the India–Nepal border.
The arrest comes shortly after the Calcutta High Court vacated his interim protection from coercive action in connection with multiple FIRs registered against him.
According to officials, Khan had gone into hiding immediately after the court withdrew his legal protection. Acting on intelligence inputs, STF personnel tracked and detained him near the border area while he was allegedly attempting to evade arrest.
Khan had been facing several criminal cases, and law enforcement agencies had intensified efforts to locate him following the court’s decision. Authorities confirmed that further legal procedures are underway following his arrest.
The STF is expected to present him before the court after completing initial formalities and interrogation.
