The $4 bag that broke fashion week

New York Fashion Week 2026 had its share of headline-making runway moments, but one of the season’s most talked-about accessories came from an unlikely source: Burger King. The fast-food chain turned its revamped chicken nuggets into Le Nugguette, a tiny nugget-shaped purse that brought food and fashion together. Each bag came with a charm inspired by one of four sauces — Honey Mustard, Buffalo, Sweet and Sour or the new Special Savoury — along with a code for a four-piece nugget order, all for $3.99. Only 100 were sold online daily from September 12 to 16, totalling 500. They disappeared within seconds, leaving plenty of fans empty-handed. The limited drop quickly sparked jokes online, with some comparing the $4 nugget bag’s scarcity to the coveted Birkin. Others called it one of fashion month’s funniest accessory moments. The stunt joins a growing list of non-fashion brands entering runway territory, including Saratoga Spring Water’s bottle-lanyard collaboration with Public School New York. Apparently, you do not need a luxury label to create a coveted bag — just a clever idea and a well-timed nugget.
