Tata Power-DDL to hold Lok Adalat for power theft cases

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) will participate in the National Lok Adalat on May 9 to facilitate on-the-spot settlement of electricity theft cases and pending dues related to disconnected power connections in North Delhi.
The Lok Adalat will be organised in collaboration with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority from 10 am to 4 pm at Permanent Lok Adalat-I in Sector 13, Rohini, near Venkateshwar Global School.
According to the power distribution company, consumers interested in resolving pending matters can register for the settlement process by contacting the company’s helpline number 19124. Customers facing issues related to electricity theft bills can also reach out through the company’s designated email support, while separate customer care email services have been provided for consumers with outstanding dues linked to disconnected electricity connections.
The utility advised consumers attending the Lok Adalat to carry a valid photo identity proof along with copies of the disputed electricity bill or disconnected connection bill. Walk-in consumers will also be allowed to directly approach the venue with their Aadhaar card and relevant documents.
Tata Power-DDL said the initiative aims to provide consumers with an opportunity for amicable resolution of disputes and settlement of outstanding dues through a legal facilitation mechanism.
The company also cautioned that consumers who fail to resolve pending matters could face criminal or civil proceedings under the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and regulations issued by the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC).
To increase public awareness about the initiative, the utility said it is conducting outreach through SMS campaigns and social media platforms.
