Tamil Nadu CM Vijay to meet PM Modi in Delhi on Maiden Official Visit

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK chief C. Joseph Vijay is set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today during his maiden official visit to the national capital after assuming office earlier this month.
According to sources, Vijay is expected to leave Chennai by a morning flight and reach Delhi for a scheduled meeting with the Prime Minister at around 4:30 pm.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister is likely to submit a detailed memorandum highlighting Tamil Nadu’s long-pending demands, including funding for welfare schemes, infrastructure development projects, and approvals for key initiatives.
The discussions are also expected to cover the Mekedatu water dispute and other inter-state water-sharing issues that remain unresolved between Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states.
Apart from meeting the Prime Minister, Vijay is also expected to hold discussions with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to seek financial support for ongoing and upcoming state projects.
Sources further indicated that the Chief Minister may also meet senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Delhi, making it a politically significant trip involving engagements across party lines.
