Supreme Court collegium clears 10 advocates as Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the appointment of 10 advocates as judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The decision was taken in a meeting held on May 4 under the leadership of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant.
The advocates recommended for elevation include Monica Chhibber Sharma, Harmeet Singh Deol, Puja Chopra, Sunish Bindlish, Navdeep Singh, Divya Sharma, Ravinder Malik, Pravindra Singh Chauhan, Rajesh Gaur, and Minderjeet Yadav.
Among them, Pravindra Singh Chauhan currently serves as the Advocate General of Haryana, while Harmeet Singh Deol is the Additional Advocate General of Punjab.
In a separate decision, the collegium also cleared the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The officers include Sunitha Gandham, Alapati Giridhar, and Purushottam Kumar Chintalapudi.
The approvals are part of the ongoing process to strengthen the higher judiciary and address vacancies in high courts across the country.
