Spider-Man Brand New Day crosses Rs 500 crore in India
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day", starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, has crossed Rs 500 crore at the Indian box office, emerging as the highest-grossing Hollywood film in the country.
The film has earned Rs 504 crore in India, surpassing the collection of Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey", which stands at Rs 201 crore, according to the report.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film released in India on July 30, a day ahead of its global release on July 31.
The cast features Holland reprising his role as Spider-Man and Zendaya as Michelle Jones-Watson, alongside Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Krondon as Tombstone and Sadie Sink as Jean Grey.
The story follows Holland's character as he confronts a new and powerful threat while grappling with a surprising physical evolution triggered by the demands of his crime-fighting life.
"Brand New Day" is the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal. The cast also includes Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, also known as The Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Michael Mando as Scorpion.
