SOG arrests AE in 2020 Junior Engineer paper leak case Rajasthan

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police has arrested an assistant engineer in connection with the Junior Engineer (JEN) Combined Recruitment Examination-2020 paper leak case, officials said on Monday.
The accused, Atul Meena (31), posted in the Water Resources Department in Kota, allegedly purchased a leaked solved question paper for Rs 25 lakh, Additional Director General (SOG) Vishal Bansal said.
The case was initially registered at Sanganer police station in 2020, following which the recruitment examination was cancelled. The test was re-conducted on September 12, 2021, but investigations later revealed that the paper for the re-exam had also been leaked before the exam.
A fresh case was registered by the SOG on January 19, 2026, and a detailed probe was initiated.
During the investigation, previously arrested accused Harshvardhan Kumar Meena allegedly confessed to supplying leaked question papers to several candidates, including Atul Meena, before the examination.
Probe findings suggest that Atul Meena struck the deal through a close associate of the main accused and obtained the paper ahead of the exam.
Officials said Meena had appeared in about a dozen other competitive examinations but had not succeeded in any of them.
The accused was produced before a court, which remanded him to police custody till August 5. The SOG is questioning him to identify other beneficiaries, the paper leak network and the wider racket.
Bansal said further investigation is underway and action will be taken against others found involved based on evidence.
