West Bengal CM hands over job, Rs 25 lakh compensation to kin of man lynched after girl’s rape, murder

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari handed over a government job appointment letter and financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to the family of Indrajit Mondal, who was lynched following public outrage over the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl in Baruipur.

The Chief Minister met the victim's family and assured them of the state government's support. He said Mondal had no involvement in the crime and stressed that those responsible for his killing would face strict legal action.

Adhikari also visited the family of the minor rape and murder victim, expressing condolences and assuring them that the government would ensure speedy justice in the case.

The rape and murder of the girl triggered widespread protests and violence in Baruipur, during which Mondal was allegedly attacked and killed by a mob. Police have maintained that he was not linked to the crime.

Several people have been arrested in connection with the lynching and the subsequent violence, while the investigation into both the rape-murder case and the mob attack is continuing.

The incident has sparked a political row in West Bengal, with opposition parties questioning the state's law and order situation, while the government has reiterated its commitment to bringing all those responsible to justice.
