Two arrested for theft of cash and gold jewellery in Attapur

In a Sleuths Operation, the Attapur Police and Rajendranagar Task Force Police apprehended two persons for allegedly breaking into a house in Hassan Nagar and stealing ₹23 lakh cash and gold jewellery worth around ₹1 lakh.
According to the police, the accused were identified as Mohammed Osman and Syed Anwar. residents of Hassan Nagar. Both accused are neighbours of the complainant, Syed Hamed, a businessman.
Police said the incident occurred during the intervening night of September 25 and 26 at a house near Madina Masjid in Hassan Nagar. Hamed used to keep cash at his residence. Police said Osman came to know about the money and informed Anwar, following which they allegedly planned the burglary.
On September 25, Hamed hosted a function for his children at N.R. Function Hall and had invited the accused. Later that night, the duo allegedly climbed into the house. Anwar remained on the terrace to watch for people, while Osman allegedly entered the house with a hammer and screwdriver, police said.
Police said Osman broke open the bedroom locks and an almirah and stole ₹23 lakh cash, a gold necklace, chain and ear tops weighing about five tulas.
Police seized ₹8.5 lakh cash, two mobile phones, a hammer and a screwdriver from the accused.
