Three dead, four injured as car rams into parked truck in Gujarat's Patan

Patan (Gujarat), Sep 6 (PTI) Three persons died and four others were injured after their car rammed into a truck parked along the highway in Patan district of Gujarat on Sunday, a police official said.

The incident occurred on the national highway near Radhanpur at around 2am, he said.

"The car rammed into the rear of a truck parked on the road. The accident was so severe that the car was completely mangled. The driver's seat was covered in blood. Three persons died, while four others, including a 14-year-old child, sustained serious injuries," the official said.

The deceased, identified as Sunil Chavda, Mahesh Mehta and Shaktisinh Jadeja, were from Anjar in Kutch district, the Radhanpur police station official added.

The injured were first taken to Radhanpur government referral hospital in an ambulance, and then shifted to Dharpur Medical College for further treatment, the official said.
