Pilgrims from Telangana hurt in Buxar crash after pind daan at Gaya

Buxar (Bihar), October 5: At least 22 pilgrims from Telangana were injured early on Monday when the bus carrying them from Gayaji to Ayodhya collided with a truck on the Veer Kunwar Singh Bridge in Buxar, officials said.
The accident took place around 4 am on the bridge, which links Bihar with Uttar Pradesh. The bus, which suffered heavy damage to its front portion, was later removed from the spot, and traffic was restored.
The pilgrims had visited Gayaji to perform 'pind daan', the ritual offering to ancestors, during the Pitru Paksha fair, and had completed the rites before setting off for Ayodhya.
Buxar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gaurav Pandey confirmed the incident. "After the collision, the passengers were taken to Buxar Sadar Hospital for treatment and are now out of danger," he said.
Police are investigating what led to the accident.
