Minister performs CPR after staffer collapses at Telangana Assembly

Raju, personal secretary to Telangana Special Chief Secretary (Energy) Naveen Mittal, died after he collapsed at the state Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, September 8, reports said.

Raju suddenly fell ill and collapsed on the Assembly premises while the session was on.

Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari, who was nearby, rushed to help him. The minister performed CPR and gave first aid while medical staff were called.

Raju was taken to a hospital in an ambulance, but doctors declared him dead on arrival, according to reports.

He is suspected to have suffered a cardiac arrest, though the exact cause of death has not been officially confirmed.

The incident shocked Assembly staff and officials who were present at the spot.

Raju was working as the personal secretary to Naveen Mittal, a senior IAS officer currently serving as Special Chief Secretary (Energy) in Telangana.
