Telangana doctor killed after car hits divider and catches fire in Suryapet

A 50-year-old neurosurgeon died after the car he was driving caught fire following a collision with a road divider in Telangana’s Suryapet district on Sunday, police said.

The accident took place at around 7.15 am near the Pillalamarri flyover on the Hyderabad-Khammam highway. According to police, the car caught fire after hitting the divider and was completely gutted before firefighters could bring the flames under control.

Police and fire personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident. Once the fire was extinguished, a charred body was found on the driver’s seat.

Police identified the deceased as K Jagadish, a neurosurgeon working at a hospital in Khammam district. His identity was established using information obtained from a nearby toll gate and the vehicle’s temporary registration number.

According to police, Jagadish was travelling from Khammam to Hyderabad to meet his family when the accident occurred.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
