Telangana CM seeks Union Cabinet approval to begin regional ring road north works

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged the Union government to grant Cabinet approval for the Northern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), a key infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity around Hyderabad.
During his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister requested that the Centre expedite approvals so construction can begin without further delay. The proposed expressway is expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and support industrial and economic growth across Telangana.
The Northern RRR, spanning about 158 km, has already received several technical clearances and is awaiting final approval from the Union Cabinet before tenders can be issued. Once approved, construction is expected to commence, with the project forming part of the Centre's broader highway development plans.
The Telangana government has repeatedly stressed the importance of completing the project to facilitate better transport infrastructure and attract investment to the region.
The Chief Minister also reiterated the state's commitment to supporting the project and called for faster clearance of other pending infrastructure proposals. Officials believe the Regional Ring Road will strengthen logistics, ease movement around Hyderabad, and accelerate development in surrounding districts.
