Tata Power-DDL energises over 10,000 rooftop solar installations

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has energised a record 10,466 rooftop solar installations as of April 2026. This milestone reflects the unprecedented growth in rooftop solar adoption under the company’s flagship initiative, project ‘Suryansh’.
The company’s cumulative rooftop solar capacity has now reached 160.3 MWp, reinforcing its leadership in Delhi’s clean energy transition and supporting the Government’s vision of clean & green energy.
Operating under the aegis of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the utility has successfully energised a record 4,375 installations till date - the highest among the Delhi DISCOMs. Of the 10,466 total connections, 8,451 are residential, turning thousands of homes into self-sustaining power plants.
From 1,803 installations and 35 MWp of installed capacity in FY 2022 to achieving 10,466 installations and 160 MWp of installed capacity as of April 2026, the performance data reflects a remarkable acceleration in the adoption of rooftop solar.
FY 2025-26 emerged as the breakthrough year for rooftop solar adoption, with 5,378 new installations adding 55.75 MWp to the distributed grid — the highest annual addition in Delhi’s history. Installations under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana witnessed exponential growth, rising to 3,100 in FY 2025-26. The momentum has continued into FY 2026-27, with 394 new installations already energised in the opening month of April 2026.
