Tamil Nadu raises Aavin milk procurement price by Rs 3 to Rs 44 per litre

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday announced a further increase in the procurement price of Aavin milk, aimed at providing financial relief to dairy farmers across the state.

The state government has approved an increase of Rs 3 per litre in the price paid to dairy farmers, taking the procurement rate from Rs 41 to Rs 44 per litre, he said.

The latest increase comes less than two weeks after the government announced an earlier hike in the Assembly on August 19. That revision had raised the procurement price from Rs 38 to Rs 41 per litre.  (with inputs from PTI)
