Security Forces Launch Cordon-and-Search Operation in Srinagar's Batamaloo Area

Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, launched a cordon-and-search operation (CASO) in Srinagar’s Batamaloo area on Thursday as part of routine security measures, officials said.

Joint teams cordoned off parts of the locality and conducted searches at multiple points to check for suspicious activity and strengthen the security grid in the area.

No arrests, recoveries or exchange of fire have been reported so far.

Security forces periodically conduct such operations across Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley to verify identities, check movement and prevent potential security threats.

Batamaloo is a densely populated locality in Srinagar and has witnessed similar security operations in the past. Some previous operations in the area had led to exchanges of fire with militants, but there was no indication of any such escalation during Thursday’s operation.

Officials have not yet provided details about any specific trigger for the CASO.
