Spear Corps conducts exercise Sarv Suraksha

Spear Corps successfully conducted Joint Exercise Sarv Suraksha 2026, a three-day Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise from June 4 to June 6, 2026, at Rangapahar Military Station (RMS). The exercise brought together troops of Spear Corps, personnel of 12 Battalion NDRF, SDRF and representatives of key civil and military agencies engaged in disaster management across the region.
Conceived to enhance multi-agency synergy, validate SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and strengthen operational readiness, the exercise focused on flood relief and disaster response contingencies across the Spear Corps Area of Responsibility encompassing Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur & Tripura.
Participants underwent intensive training through lectures, case studies and realistic field drills covering search and rescue, casualty evacuation, relief camp management, emergency medical support, drone-assisted reconnaissance, rescue boat operations, and specialised flood rescue procedures. The exercise also showcased the employment of cutting-edge technologies and modern disaster response equipment, highlighting their growing role in enabling swift and effective humanitarian assistance operations.
Some key highlights were the rapid construction of a medium girder bridge in a simulated disaster-affected area, drone-assisted rescue, etc., demonstrating the engineering capability and swift response mechanism of Spear Corps in restoring critical connectivity.
The exercise significantly enhanced inter-operability, communication and mutual understanding among participating agencies, reinforcing a coordinated and resilient framework for the North East.
