Roshibina Devi enters semifinals in wushu at Asian Games, ensures medal

Indian wushu exponent Roshibina Devi Naorem assured the country of a medal by entering the women's 60kg semifinals at the Asian Games here on Tuesday.

Roshibina defeated Macau's Chu Man Sin in the quarterfinals at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall and was declared the winner on point difference.

The Indian has previously won a silver and a bronze medal at the last two editions of the Asian Games.

Roshibina's qualification ensured India a medal in the discipline at the ongoing Games.

Meanwhile, Hanjabam Langlentombi Devi finished ninth in the women's Nanquan & Nandao final with a score of 9.403.

She recorded 4.85 in quality of movement, 2.703 in overall performance and 1.85 in degree of difficulty.

In the men's 56kg Sanda quarterfinal, Aryan lost 1-2 to Uzbekistan's Saydullo Aburashitov. He won the first round 5-0 but lost the next two rounds 0-5, 0-5.
