RBSE to conduct Class 10 board exams twice a year from 2026-27

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will give Class 10 students two chances to appear for board exams in the same academic year from 2026-27. Rajasthan School Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar announced the change, which is intended to ease exam pressure and provide students with an opportunity to improve their results.
Students will have to take the first board exam as their compulsory attempt. Those who clear it can then opt for the second exam if they want to improve their marks. The improvement exam will allow them to appear for a maximum of three subjects.
The first board exam is likely to take place in February-March, followed by the second examination in May-June. The complete Class 10 syllabus will be applicable to both examinations.
Information regarding the 2027 main examination is already available on the RBSE's official website, suggesting that the board is preparing to implement the new examination pattern.
The second exam is intended for students who want to improve their scores during the same academic session. Students satisfied with their performance in the first exam can skip the second attempt.
The additional opportunity could be useful for students whose marks are affected by exam-related stress, illness or an unexpectedly poor performance during the first examination.
