Rajkot teacher arrested for alleged sexual sssault of KG students inside classroom

A school teacher in Gujarat’s Rajkot district has been arrested on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting multiple kindergarten students inside a classroom, police said.

According to officials, the accused—identified as a 55-year-old teacher from Upleta taluka—was taken into custody after complaints were filed alleging abuse of several Senior Kindergarten (KG) girls.

The alleged incidents are said to have taken place within the school premises, prompting a police investigation and raising serious concerns about child safety in educational institutions.

Following the complaint, authorities registered a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and provisions related to sexual assault. The accused was subsequently arrested.

Police have begun recording statements from students, school staff, and other witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation to determine the full extent of the allegations.

Child welfare authorities have also been informed, and counselling support is being arranged for the affected children. Officials said the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness.

The incident has sparked concern in the local community, with calls for stronger safeguarding measures and stricter monitoring in schools to prevent such cases.
