Rain delays post-lunch session on Day 1 of Sri Lanka-India Test in Galle

The start of the second session on the opening day of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka was delayed on Saturday, Aug 15th due to a wet outfield.

Rain arrived during the lunch break, forcing ground staff to cover the pitch.

India had gone into lunch with a strong start, reaching 101 for one. Yashasvi Jaiswal (32) was run out following a mix-up with opener KL Rahul in the first session, but India continued to consolidate.

Devdutt Padikkal (35 not out) played several attractive strokes, while Rahul remained watchful to reach 32 not out at the break.
