Punjab class 12 student dies by suicide, family alleges school harassment over unpaid fees

A 17-year-old Class 12 student from Amritsar, Punjab, has died by suicide after allegedly facing repeated harassment from her school administration over unpaid fees, triggering outrage and demands for a thorough investigation. According to family members, the student had outstanding school fees of around ₹20,000. They alleged that despite requests for additional time and installment-based payments, school officials continued to pressure her over the dues. Reports indicate that the student consumed a poisonous substance after returning home and remained under treatment for several days before succumbing. Before her death, she allegedly recorded a video in which she blamed the school management for the mental trauma she had experienced. The family has demanded strict action against those responsible.
