Pune Porsche Case: Viral video shows teen accused’s father celebrating bail with family

A video allegedly showing Vishal Agarwal, father of the minor accused in the Pune Porsche crash case, celebrating his bail with family members has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage online.

The video, reportedly recorded shortly after the Supreme Court granted him bail in March, shows Agarwal dancing with his wife and son at what appears to be a local restaurant while live music plays in the background.

In the viral clip, Agarwal is seen wearing garlands made of flowers and currency notes as family members and friends celebrate around him. His son is also seen lifting him during the celebration, while his wife joins in the dancing.

Vishal Agarwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court on March 10 in connection with allegations that he attempted to manipulate evidence after the fatal Porsche crash in Pune in May 2024.

According to investigators, Agarwal and his wife were accused of trying to tamper with their son’s blood samples to conceal evidence of alcohol consumption. Police also alleged that efforts were made to pressure their family driver into taking responsibility for the crash.

A Supreme Court bench comprising Justices B V Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan granted bail after noting that Agarwal had spent nearly 22 months in jail. However, the court directed him not to contact witnesses connected to the case.

The Pune Porsche crash case sparked nationwide attention after a luxury Porsche allegedly driven by a minor under the influence of alcohol hit and killed two software engineers — Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa — in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area on May 19, 2024.

The case drew public outrage after the Juvenile Justice Board initially granted the teenager bail within hours of the incident with conditions including writing an essay on road safety. Following criticism, the minor was later sent to an observation home while investigations expanded into alleged evidence tampering and procedural lapses.

The viral celebration video has once again reignited debate on accountability and sensitivity in high-profile criminal cases.
