Meet Bettiah (Bihar) born and Sahibganj, Jharkhand, raised Ashwin Srisvatava, 33, an alumnus of IIT, Bombay, who runs an array of Information Technology (IT) companies and rubs shoulders with the who’s who of the country and abroad! Not surprisingly, the high risk taking entrepreneur, as he prefers to call himself, and the global investor is Forbes Under 30 Honoree (2017 Asia List) and has investments interests in India, UAE, USA, Africa and Israel.
And it has not been an easy task for this IT honcho to reach the pinnacle of success at a very young age. Barely two years after passing out from his prestigious technical institute in 2013, he met with a serious train accident, which almost turned fatal. But, the bold guy faced amputation of one of his legs and emerged victorious to create an empire.
It was a miracle that now Mumbai-based Ashwin survived the accident and the brave man says his metallic leg has made him stronger. “Now I can do much more than what I could do before the accident, now I am like a Robocop,” says Ashwin, who had set up his first company Incept soon after becoming an IIT graduate in 2011. “An MNC acquired Incept that helped me meet the high medical expenses for months in curing me,” recalls the simple living high thinking bachelor boy! While one of his legs was completely chopped off in the accident, the other too crushed completely and had to be corrected after multiple surgeries.
Ashwin is the CEO of Sapio Analytics, a company that has joined hands with the Govt of India to create a module of virtual governance and helps the Government in framing the right policy. Other than Sapio, Ashwin runs a Great Managers Institute with world renowned leadership experts on board and a virtual comprehensive cancer institute, which tries to give quality life to cancer patients. Ashwin is founder of Idein Ventures and has interests in varied domains like education, health care, real estate, electronics and media. But, despite achieving a lot, Ashwin says just financial gains have never been his cup of tea. “I am enterprising, great risk taker who rather invests in building new vistas,” he says.
Life has not been very easy for Ashwin, who is son of a medical surgeon, Dr Ashok Kumar Srivastava, who unfortunately died when Ashwin had just passed out from DPS RK Puram Delhi. Now Ashwin has almost everything, but he has never run after glamour or designer items. “I imbibed simplicity from my father. It’s the intrinsic values that matters. I began from zero and can still survive from zero. This is the reason why I can take a lot of risks because I don’t fear losing anything,” he says. But, so far God has been favourable to this angel investor who loves sleeping on the floor of his house at Powai in Mumbai and near his alma mater—IIT Mumbai.
Prospective brides need to understand the simplicity of Ashwin, who has finally agreed to tie the knot on the immense pressure of his mother, Renu Srivastava, who stays with him in Mumbai. Ashwin’s only sibling, an elder brother is also an IITian and is settled in the Middle East.
Where does he see himself in 2030? “Honestly speaking I consider my achievements so far as a scratch. I will feel I achieved something only when I positively impact a billion people,” concludes the Proudly Indian!
