Prince Rahim Aga Khan V meets President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, the 50th Imam of the Ismaili Muslims, met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday during his visit to India.

Prince Rahim Aga Khan V is visiting India from September 9 to 15 following an invitation from Vice President C P Radhakrishnan.

“His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan,” the President’s Office said in a post on X.

Murmu appreciated the work undertaken by the Aga Khan Development Network and said it demonstrated how non-profit organisations, working in partnership with the government, can help improve people’s quality of life, according to the post.

This is Prince Rahim Aga Khan V’s first visit to India since he became the 50th Imam of the Ismaili community.

Earlier on Thursday, he met Vice President Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Prince Rahim Aga Khan V succeeded his father, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, as the spiritual leader of the Nizari Ismaili Muslims earlier this year.
