PM to unveil Rs 18,000 cr projects in Surat

Preparations are in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Surat on June 5, 2026, with senior political leaders and top administrative officials reviewing arrangements ahead of the high-profile tour.
A high-level meeting was held at the Surat Collectorate to assess security, traffic management, logistics and public convenience measures related to the Prime Minister’s visit. The review was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Paatil, District Collector Tejas Parmar, the Surat Police Commissioner, Surat Municipal Commissioner and senior officials from various departments. According to officials, the Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at Surat Airport at around 2 pm on June 5. From there, he will proceed to the L&T facility in Hazira, where he is expected to spend approximately 45 minutes reviewing ongoing industrial operations and infrastructure projects.
Following the plant visit, Modi will attend a major public programme at the city’s Indoor Stadium. During the event, he is set to dedicate and lay foundation stones for a series of development projects collectively valued at more than Rs 18,000 crore, benefiting Surat and the wider South Gujarat region.
The package is expected to include the inauguration of completed projects as well as the launch of several new infrastructure and development initiatives.
Authorities have intensified preparations across departments to ensure smooth execution of the visit, while security agencies are coordinating comprehensive arrangements for the Prime Minister’s movement and public engagements.
Officials stated that all concerned departments have been instructed to complete pending preparations on priority to ensure the successful conduct of the Prime Minister’s programme.
