PM Modi, Trump to hold bilateral talks on trade and global security on G7 Summit sidelines

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump to hold a crucial interaction on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, marking their first in-person meeting in more than 16 months.
The leaders exchanged greetings and discussed key issues, with a bilateral meeting focused on trade, energy security, and regional developments scheduled during the summit.
PM Modi is attending the 52nd G7 Summit as a guest leader, representing India and voicing the concerns of the Global South.
During the outreach session, he emphasized the importance of trust, international cooperation, secure maritime routes, and the safety of seafarers amid ongoing global tensions.
The summit in France has brought together leaders from major economies to discuss pressing global challenges, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict, developments in the Middle East, artificial intelligence, global trade, and energy security.
Discussions between Modi and Trump are also expected to touch upon a potential India-US trade agreement, with further negotiations planned in the coming weeks.
