PM Modi receives Grand Welcome in Netherlands, meets Indian Diaspora

PM Narendra Modi arrived in the Netherlands on the second leg of his five-nation tour and received a warm welcome with cultural performances before interacting with members of the Indian diaspora in The Hague.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten and also meet King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima during his visit.

Modi was received at the airport by senior Dutch officials, including Rear Admiral Ludger Brummelaar, Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen and India’s Ambassador to the Netherlands Kumar Tuhin.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the visit comes at an important stage in India-Netherlands relations as both countries continue expanding cooperation in trade, technology, defence, semiconductors, renewable energy, maritime affairs and innovation.

People-to-people ties and engagement with the Indian community are also expected to remain a major focus of the visit.

This is PM Modi’s second visit to the Netherlands after his 2017 trip and forms part of his broader diplomatic outreach across Europe and the UAE.
