PM Modi likely to visit Delhi University's SRCC on September 5

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Delhi University's Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) on September 5, coinciding with Teachers' Day and the centenary year of the prestigious institution, sources said.

The proposed visit comes amid the BJP's ongoing outreach to the young generation.

If the visit takes place, it would be Modi's first visit to SRCC since 2013, when he was the chief minister of Gujarat.

Earlier this year, Modi met the governing body and a delegation from SRCC at his residence in April to mark the college's 100th anniversary.

During the meeting, he also released a special commemorative postage stamp marking the centenary of the institution.

SRCC, one of Delhi University's prominent commerce and economics colleges, was established in 1926 and is celebrating its centenary this year.

September 5 is observed as Teachers' Day in India to mark the birth anniversary of former President and educationist Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
