PM Modi and Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez hold talks to Trade Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held bilateral talks with Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, focusing on strengthening cooperation across key sectors including energy, trade, investment, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, transportation and renewable energy.
Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Rodriguez and reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening ties with Venezuela. He expressed confidence that her discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi would further enhance bilateral cooperation.
Rodriguez arrived in India on a five-day visit aimed at expanding strategic and economic engagement between the two countries. The visiting delegation is also scheduled to visit facilities related to the energy, pharmaceutical and automobile sectors to explore new opportunities for collaboration.

India and Venezuela share longstanding relations, particularly in the energy sector, where Indian public sector companies have made significant investments. Both nations are expected to explore avenues for expanding cooperation while reinforcing their shared commitment to the Global South.
