Over 2 lakh aspirants await DU’s first UG seat allocation list

More than two lakh candidates are gearing up for undergraduate admissions to the University of Delhi, with the first seat allocation list under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) set to be released on Thursday.
The first allocation list, to be announced at 5 pm on July 16, marks the beginning of seat allotment for admissions to 73 undergraduate programmes and over 150 BA programme combinations offered across 69 colleges and departments. A total of 71,624 seats are up for grabs.
According to the latest data by the university, 2,08,043 candidates have submitted their programme and college preferences after the closure of the preference correction window on Monday. The figure rose from 2,06,835 before the release of simulated ranks as more applicants finalised their choices during the correction period.
Overall, 2,73,751 candidates registered on the CSAS portal, while 2,18,284 completed the registration process. Of these, 97,775 are male and 1,20,509 are female candidates.
The second phase of the admission process concluded on July 11, during which candidates mapped their CUET-UG 2026 subjects with those studied in Class 12 and filled their preferred programme and college combinations. The university had also provided a correction window, followed by the release of simulated ranks, allowing candidates to assess their likely position before making final changes to their preferences.
University officials said the most sought-after courses this year include BCom (Hons), BCom, BA (Hons) English, BA (Hons) Political Science, BA Programme (History and Political Science), BA (Hons) History, BSc (Hons) Zoology, BSc (Hons) Mathematics, BSc Programme (Life Science) and BA (Hons) Economics.
