New Delhi hits back at OIC on J&K

India has issued a sharp rebuttal against the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), categorically rejecting references to Jammu and Kashmir in a recent joint communique.

New Delhi firmly reiterated that the Islamic bloc holds no authority to comment on matters strictly internal to the sovereign nation, while reprimanding Pakistan for using the multilateral forum to promote politically driven narratives.

The strong reaction from New Delhi followed a meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York. During the meeting, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar urged OIC member states to maintain a unified stance on the Kashmir issue at international forums, calling for a resolution based on UN Security Council declarations.

Responding to the developments, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) dismissed the statements as factually incorrect and unwarranted. Official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the nation's formal position, asserting that the entire Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh remain an integral and inalienable part of India. The ministry stressed that no amount of repeated propaganda could alter this geopolitical reality. “The OIC has no locus standi to pronounce on matters that are strictly internal to India,” the MEA statement declared. New Delhi further cautioned that the body's consistent endorsement of biased narratives severely undermines its own global credibility.

Turning its focus toward Islamabad, the ministry advised the Islamic summit to stop acting as a platform for anti-India rhetoric. Instead, New Delhi suggested the OIC direct its attention to Pakistan's documented history of cross-border terrorism.

The MEA urged the neighboring state to look inward and take concrete action against the active terrorist infrastructure operating within its borders, rather than attempting to internationalise bilateral matters through external organisations.

India has consistently maintained a firm diplomatic stance against third-party commentary on its sovereign territories, repeatedly advising international bodies to respect its territorial integrity and non-interference in domestic affairs.
