NEET-UG 2026: Bihar police warns students against rumours, fake paper leak claims ahead of June 21 exam

Ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, Bihar Police has issued a public advisory cautioning students and parents against rumours, fake paper leak claims and fraudulent calls offering question papers or answer keys.

The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police urged candidates not to fall prey to cyber fraudsters who may attempt to exploit anxiety surrounding the medical entrance examination. Authorities warned that anti-social elements could use social media platforms and messaging services to spread misinformation aimed at compromising the integrity of the examination process.

In its advisory, the EOU said members of the public should immediately report any suspicious offers, claims of access to question papers, or other misleading information related to the examination.

The warning comes after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced June 21 as the date for the NEET-UG 2026 retest. The original examination conducted on May 3 was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak. The matter is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Police officials stated that strict legal action would be taken against individuals found involved in circulating fake information, attempting examination fraud or misleading candidates.

The EOU has also asked students and parents to promptly report suspicious communications through its official email and helpline channels. Officials stressed that vigilance from the public would help ensure a fair and transparent examination process.

The advisory follows the arrest of alleged paper leak mastermind Sanjeev Kumar Singh, who is accused of involvement in multiple examination leak cases, including previous recruitment and competitive examinations across several states.

According to Bihar Police, the network linked to the accused operates across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan and has allegedly been involved in several examination-related fraud cases.

Authorities have also issued similar alerts for candidates appearing in upcoming Bihar Home Guard clerk recruitment examinations and constable recruitment tests, urging aspirants to remain cautious and rely only on official notifications for examination-related information.
