NCISM pushes AyurSIM for Ayurveda teaching

The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) has advised Ayurveda colleges and institutions across India to explore and suitably integrate AyurSIM (Ayurvedic Virtual Clinical Simulations) as a supplementary teaching-learning resource for competency-based Ayurveda education.

In a circular, NCISM highlighted AyurSIM as a free-access virtual patient simulation platform that can support the practical and clinical learning requirements of Ayurveda education. The Commission has encouraged institutions to use the platform in settings including clinical skill and simulation laboratories, digital libraries, smart classrooms, tutorial groups, clinical case discussions and faculty development activities.

AyurSIM has been jointly developed by Amrita CREATE and Amrita School of Ayurveda, in collaboration with the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar, through a project supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

The initiative builds on the vision for preserving and advancing Ayurveda by bringing together the strengths of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge and contemporary educational technology.
