Naidu clears 12th Pay Commission for AP employees

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday agreed to constitute the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and announced a series of measures to resolve pending salary and other issues of government employees.

The decisions, which will entail an additional annual expenditure of Rs 2,880 crore to the state exchequer, came amid demands from government employees’ unions for action on pending issues, including the PRC and Dearness Allowance (DA).

According to an official release, two pending DAs will be paid from October 1, 2026. The DAs due from July 1, 2024, and January 1, 2025, will also be released.

Naidu also agreed to credit the surrender leave amount pertaining to 2022 to employees’ accounts by the upcoming Sankranti festival.

For police personnel, the chief minister announced payment for one additional surrender leave during the upcoming Dasara festival.

He also announced an additional pension quantum from January 2027. Pensioners above 70 years of age will receive an additional 10 per cent, while those above 75 years will receive an additional 15 per cent, the release said.

Naidu also assured employees that the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) would be streamlined. From October, the government will make monthly payments to the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, according to the release.

The chief minister said government employees were an integral part of the administration and assured them of continued government support.

The government said the measures were aimed at addressing pending employee issues while taking into account the state's financial position.
