Mumbai Local Trains to run full schedule on sunday for NEET-UG 2026 students

In a student-friendly move ahead of the NEET-UG examination, the Mumbai suburban railway system will operate its full schedule on Sunday to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel for candidates appearing for the exam.
Officials said the decision has been taken to facilitate the movement of students across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with all Central Railway and Western Railway local train services running as per their regular timetable on the exam day.
The step is aimed at avoiding disruptions typically caused by weekly maintenance blocks, ensuring uninterrupted suburban connectivity for thousands of NEET aspirants travelling to their respective examination centres.
Authorities have also urged commuters and students to plan their journeys in advance and reach stations early to avoid last-minute rush, as heavy passenger movement is expected during morning hours.
The move is part of a broader effort by Indian Railways and local administration to support candidates appearing for major competitive examinations by ensuring reliable and accessible public transport services on exam days.
Officials added that similar arrangements are often made during important national-level examinations to prioritise student convenience and prevent travel-related delays.
