MP to set up fast-track courts for paper leaks
The Madhya Pradesh Government will establish four fast-track courts to ensure the speedy disposal of cases related to paper leaks, examination irregularities and other education-related matters, with a target of resolving them within three months, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Saturday.
Addressing the media at the State Assembly, Yadav said the Government stands firmly with students and remains committed to safeguarding their interests. The proposed fast-track courts will be set up in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior, making Madhya Pradesh the first state to create a dedicated judicial mechanism for the swift resolution of examination-related cases.
The chief minister said the move reflects the state’s commitment to delivering timely justice to students and restoring confidence in the examination system.
He added that the Government would also develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure future NEET examinations are conducted in a more transparent, secure and efficient manner. Referring to the NEET paper leak controversy, Yadav said the Centre acted promptly by constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT), registering cases and arresting the accused across the country, followed by the conduct of a fresh examination. He said the Government’s priority is to protect the interests of students and maintain the integrity of competitive examinations. Highlighting the state’s education reforms, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh was the first state to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
He added that three new Government universities have been established during the current government’s tenure, alongside efforts to strengthen higher education and create greater opportunities for young people.
The Chief Minister also noted the expansion of higher education infrastructure across the country, stating that the number of universities has increased from 641 to more than 1,400, while medical education seats have doubled from around 50,000 to over one lakh, reflecting the Government’s focus on expanding access to quality education.
