Mohanlal praises Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam: The Conclusion', congratulates team

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has praised Ajay Devgn-starrer "Drishyam: The Conclusion", congratulating director Abhishek Pathak and the entire cast and crew for bringing the popular crime thriller franchise to a close.

Mohanlal shared his appreciation in a video posted on the film's production banner's official Instagram handle on Monday.

"I have watched the film, and I am impressed by the way they have brought this much-loved journey to an end. Congratulations to Abhishek Pathak, Ajay Devgn and the entire cast and crew... So well done," he said.

The film, released on October 2, is the final instalment in the "Drishyam" franchise and is directed by Pathak. It is approaching the Rs 500-crore mark at the global box office.

Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, a cable operator who once again finds himself caught in a cat-and-mouse game with the law as he attempts to protect his family.

The film also features the return of Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav. Jaideep Ahlawat joins the franchise as Rajveer Singh Tomar, a crime branch officer pursuing the case.

The Hindi franchise, adapted from the Malayalam hit starring Mohanlal, began with "Drishyam" in 2015. Directed by the late Nishikant Kamat, the film introduced audiences to Vijay Salgaonkar's efforts to shield his family after his daughter becomes involved in a crime.

The story continued with "Drishyam 2" in 2022, which emerged as one of the year's highest-grossing Hindi films.

"Drishyam: The Conclusion" is produced by Panorama Studios and presented by Star Studio18. The screenplay has been written by Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.
