Man arrested in Northeast Delhi after video with illegal firearm surfaces

A 23-year-old man, allegedly spotted in a social media video holding an illegal firearm, was arrested in northeast Delhi, with police recovering a semi-automatic pistol and seven live cartridges from him, an officer said on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Anas and a resident of Welcome Colony, was arrested following a tip-off, police said.

An FIR was registered against him at the Welcome police station. During questioning, Anas allegedly revealed details about where he had obtained the weapon.

Police are now verifying the source of the firearm and searching for other individuals involved in the supply chain.  (with inputs from PTI)
