Kuwaiti Ambassador Meshal Mustafa Al-Shamali affirms deep historical ties with India

Kuwaiti Ambassador to India, Meshaal Mustafa Al-Shamali, affirmed the strength of Kuwaiti-Indian relations on Saturday while attending the annual celebration held at the Presidential Palace in New Delhi to mark the 80th anniversary of independence.

Ambassador Al-Shamali extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the leadership and friendly people of the Republic of India, praising the Indian people’s journey toward freedom, progress, prosperity, and the pluralism that has characterized the nation over the decades.

Al-Shamali took the opportunity to highlight the solid historical ties between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of India—relationships rooted in long-standing traditions of trade, cultural, and human exchange that predate the establishment of formal diplomatic relations in the early 1960s. He noted the continued, brilliant trajectory of bilateral relations across political, economic, and investment sectors, as well as the spirit of mutual benefit. Furthermore, the Ambassador commended the positive role played by the Indian community residing in Kuwait, describing it as a vibrant bridge connecting the two friendly peoples.
