KTR demands Rahul Gandhi to listen to ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ in Telangana

Lambasting the Congress party for completely neglecting the youth and students during its 1,000 days in power in Telangana, BRS Working President K T Rama Rao dared Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to come to Telangana to listen to the plight of the youth and students. He accused Rahul Gandhi of changing colours from state to state. Referring to Rahul Gandhi, he remarked: “You are talking about ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ across India, but not in Telangana. I demand you to come to Karimnagar in Telangana. You will hear the real ‘Goonj’ of students here.”

Addressing the “Yuva Samarabheri”, a public meeting with youth and students, in Karimnagar, Rama Rao said that the Congress had failed to implement its promised job calendar. He termed the job calendar as “scam calendar”. He called upon the youth and students to prepare for another movement from Karimnagar, which he described as the birthplace of several struggles.

Recalling the Telangana movement, he said it was from Karimnagar that former Chief Minister and BRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao had launched his statehood struggle. “When the youth rise with clenched fists, it can change history,” he said, adding that the youth had played a crucial role in several movements.

He questioned the Congress government over its pre-election promises, including filling two lakh government jobs annually, setting up a Youth Commission, providing 75 per cent reservation for locals in private companies, scooters to college-going women, loans of up to Rs 10 lakh for youth and an unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000 per month. He also questioned whether fee reimbursement was being released properly and alleged that unemployed youth and students had been deceived by the Congress. He alleged that when the youth questioned the government over its unfulfilled promises, they were being met with abusive language instead of answers.

He said the government had completed 1,000 days in office but had failed to provide a clear roadmap for employment. “There are no notifications, but lootification is going on. There is no job calendar; instead, there is a scam calendar in the State,” he alleged.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s promise of providing two lakh jobs a year at Ashoknagar, he alleged that Rahul Gandhi had disappeared after securing votes. “If you do not come, we will come to Delhi,” he warned.

He further alleged that the Chief Minister and ministers were fighting over sharing of looted money instead of addressing public issues. He accused the Congress government of lacking a vision and alleged that destruction was visible across the State.
