Korean delegation visits YEIDA to explore investment opportunities

A Korean delegation visited the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Thursday to explore investment opportunities in the region. The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources, Republic of Korea, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
The delegation comprised Kim Jinsoo, Director, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources; Kang Hong Koo, Deputy Director, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources; Sungjoong Cho, Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Korea; Donghyon Kim, Managing Director, KOTRA South Asia Head Office; and Jaewook (Jake) Lee, Executive Director, India-Korea Business Cooperation Desk, KOTRA.
During the visit, Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, IAS, Additional Chief Executive Officer, YEIDA, made a presentation on the investment potential of the YEIDA region. He highlighted the region’s strong connectivity, the operationalisation of the Noida International Airport, and the growing presence of leading investors such as Escorts Kubota, HCL-Foxconn and other prominent companies.
He further stated that investments in the YEIDA region are coming in key sectors and products such as semiconductor chips, electronics manufacturing, medical devices, automobile components and other emerging industrial segments, which have strengthened the region’s industrial and logistics ecosystem.
Bhatia also briefed the delegation about the proposed Korean City in Sector 4A of YEIDA, planned to attract and facilitate Korean investment in the region. He further shared details of the proposed Korean City, spread over approximately 900 acres and having “Multiple Land Use Industry” as its land use, with provisions for industrial, residential, commercial and institutional facilities.
He also highlighted its strong connectivity, including doorstep access to Noida International Airport and proximity to Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Dedicated Freight Corridors, making it suitable for attracting and facilitating Korean investment in the region.
